LIBREO GmbH develops and produces charging stations for electric mobility with its headquarters in Kitzingen, Lower Franconia. The products of LIBREO have a timeless design and offer high aesthetics with an innovative range of functions in order to support the user as well as the power grid in the best possible way. LIBREO's charging stations are used both in the private sector and via complex charging infrastructures in the commercial sector. LIBREO stands for the quality and durability of its products, because charging technology is the key to everyday electric mobility.


We were commissioned with the conception and the technical implementation of an individual customer portal for the control and administration of the LIBREO charging stations. In this context, we should also develop a mobile app that runs on IOS and Android. In the future, the customer portal should take over the complete management of all LIBREO hardware with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth communication. Secure real-time communication was a high priority here.

One of the biggest challenges in the project was the secure communication between the app and charging stations via Bluetooth and W-LAN, the app development for two operating systems and the deadline set in the project, because we started from scratch at many points of the development.


We have created a customer portal for LIBREO, which contains all the digital application processes for using the charging stations via smartphone. For app development, we used Flutter, an open source UI development kit from Google, among others. So we were able to create a good user experience with a shorter development time, faster execution speed and a good user experience. In the portal, the LIBREO customer can view and control all his charging stations. As soon as the latter makes changes via the app, the data is exchanged in real time between the charging station and the customer portal.
